Thanks to all of you who sent Holly and I an anniversary card, a text message or gave us a call on Sunday! To celebrate we went to church, did our grocery shopping and then stayed in the rest of the day and watched our wedding video (what great memories!). We cannot believe that we have been married for a year now! We both feel as though it has been the best year of both of our lives!
Holly and I asked ourselves the question, "what was the best part of this past year (besides the wedding or the honeymoon)?" Our answers were surprising to us, and we thought we'd share them with you all.
Holly's answer to what was the best part of the past year was the difficulties we have faced as a couple and as persons trying to get to know each other. Looking back on the year, those times were Holly's favorite because they taught us a lot about ourselves and we both learned how to grow and then grew as a couple.
My answer was very similar in that I said my favorite time of the past year was the spiritual struggles we have had as individuals and as a couple. The reason this was so cool for me is because in those times that were tremendously difficult, God showed up every time with His grace, mercy, comfort, wisdom, and above all love.
We miss home, we love what God's doing here, and we know God's molding us into the image of Christ Jesus that we might reach people with the gospel of God and Jesus whom He sent.
