Chick-A-Flick

Yes, that is what some funny...or very strange...California lady called a "new restaurant" that was handing out the most "juicy chicken sandwiches." Oh yeah baby, I'm talking about bringing the Dirty South to the Left Coast...Chick-fil-a is in La Habra!

For those of you back home, that probably means nothing, there's a Chick-fil-a on every corner but out here? Not so much. They are mainly in malls out here with several free standing stores very spaced out. Holly and I used to drive about 20 minutes to get to one in Cerritos...but now, oh yeah, like 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. It's right in the heart of our shopping center mecca. Another trivia fact for you; this location is actually in the building the first Krispy Kreme in California was in! CRAZY! (Yeah, it went out of business a while back.)

Anyway, the reason I bring up Chick-fil-A (with their delicious original chicken sandwich, those scrumptious waffle fries, and that to die for sweet tea...oh yeah, they have it out here too) is because Holly and I went to the "Premiere Night" for this location last night. How you might ask? Well, since Holly and I are such celebrities they came and found us! Or, as the real story goes, they were handing sandwiches out in front of Lowe's, and a friend of ours got one and the manager invited he and his wife to come last night for this special occasion...which in turn lead to Randy asking us "do you guys want to go to Chick-fil-A with us on Tuesday? They said if you are familiar with Chick-fil-A you need to come. There'll be free stuff!" So, long story short...they (Randy and Sarah) didn't go, and we did...and we were like the only people there that didn't know any other people. It was cool though, we played calm, acted like we were important, talked to Bubba Cathy for a while, made sure people noticed us talking to Bubba Cathy for a while, sipped our sweet tea, enjoyed our meal, enjoyed our two milk shakes (ok my two milk shakes...but I didn't drink both of them, only about 1/4 of each...i know, I'm sorry, it was such a waste, but it was either stop or lose all of the free stuff to the trash can as I vomited) then slipped out waving good by to all the "important" people in the store, and exited down the red carpet. The king and queen left the building...as we both think to ourselves, let's get home so we can take the ice out of our sweet tea's, put 'em in the fridge and save it for tomorrow!

In all seriousness, it was a great night and a real blessing for Holly and I. We met some cool people and left contact info for the people so we can help them get Chick-fil-A big at Biola.

And yes, this was completely about a fast food restaurant...I guess I'm showing you what really gets my engine going. Did I mention I love Jesus too?
