Evan Almighty

Holly and I went to a screening for the movie, "Evan Almighty," and we were very pleasantly surprised. If any of you have seen Bruce Almighty and found it a bit disappointing b/c of some inappropriate scenes for the younger viewers, you can rest easy because there are only a couple points some might even consider mildly inappropriate. If you loved Bruce Almighty for the story line and for the "point" of it, I think this movie tops it. The big thing this movie deals with are the times when we are going through struggles or hardships and I think deals with calamity and how God could allow certain things to happen. The point that we remember the God character, played by Morgan Freeman, making was he said, "everything I do is because I love you."

Holly and I kept waiting for some irreverence, a moment where the movie mocked God, or belittled the Bible and/or God. We cannot remember anything like that. The movie was very funny,family friendly, had some great actors, and something to go see as soon as it comes out!
