For the Fourth of July this year Holly and I went to San Diego to celebrate our one year anniversary. We didn't get to celebrate it too much on the actual day, June 24, so we planned a little trip to stay in San Diego for a few days to soak up the son, the food, and the animals.

We wanted to be a bit different so we went to the Wild Animal Park on the Fourth, which both of us enjoyed very much. The Park is this vast valley just outside of San Diego where the animals can roam free in a habitat that is similar to the one they would normally live in. The weather wasn't the best since it was a clear Sunny day with the temperature getting up to about 100 degrees. Oh, did we mention the fact that we walked what was the equivalent of miles and miles, but it was awesome! Here's one of our favorite pictures from the Park...

The Gorilla exhibit was amazing, there were several great Rhino's, A lot of Giraffe's , the lion's were very entertaining since we came up to the exhibit and they began to talk to each other (it was so cool!, the safari tour ride we took was incredible because you get to see over 50 species of animals on the tour, and we would recommend it to anyone.

The next day we went to the San Diego Zoo, one of the best Zoo's in the country. One of Holly's favorite things about the Zoo was the Koala exhibit, where they have a number of Koala's about two feet away. The tour around the zoo was really fun and informative, and we saw a lot of cool animals on this double decker bus. My favorite animals we saw were the snakes, or probably the Alaskan Brown bear named Spanky. Another awesome exhibit is the Panda exhibit, where we did have to wait in line for about 15 minutes, but it was well worth it! Here's a great picture of one of the Panda's...

That night Holly and I went to a nice place called Island Prime, a little steak house in the San Diego Harbor. It was a beautiful place with a beautiful view and Holly and I ate way too much for dinner and then the manager gave us a free dessert that was also delicious, though we could only get a couple of bites in us before we both felt like we would pop. If you are ever in San Diego, this place is GREAT though pricey. This is us at our table...

We also want to say thank you to our family who made this trip possible. We are truly blessed to have such great friends and family and we were reminded of that while we were down in San Diego.
